What to wear when you hike in Maine: Having the right type of clothing can make your hiking trip in Maine very enjoyable. Many of you will visit the coast and the moutains and foothills of our fine state and it is always important to be well prepared for your adventure in Maine. Each Person Should Have
Try to bring clothing that will keep you warm even it gets wet. Wool, polypropylene, and pile works well for that. It also helps to dress in layers. Remember the summits of Maine's hills and mountains can be cooler than the trailheads. Be sure you use a pair of boots or shoes that are comfortable and have been "broken in".
